Make Triumph. Model Spitfire. I have always had convertibles, both old and new, but never have had a car that is this much fun. Let me introduce you to "Lucy Lou. The first owner was in New Orleans, and the second owner was in Tampa, Florida. The second owner did not drive it, and only showed her at car shows.

It has never been up North and has no rust. She has never failed to start. When I first bought her and took her to a mechanic, he indicated that she was in excellent shape. Everyone loves her! Also, comes with a car cover and 2 mud guards, a box of various bits and pieces, 2 repair operation manuals and a Triumph Spitfire Haynes restoration manual.

I love this car. I drive it daily in town and around to The Villages in Florida. The only reason I am selling is because my husband recently had a triple bypass and it is now hard for him to get in and out of. I want to buy a car that we can have fun in together! The place where we live has a homeowner's association and each resident is only allowed 2 cars, so when I buy my next convertible then I would have to pay to store this one, as my husband also has a truck.

She runs like a dream. A blast to drive. Everywhere I go, I have folks stopping me to ask questions, as well as tell me all about a Spitfire that they have owned in the past. Either that, or they have a friend that owns one. Where did I get it? Is it for sale?We last sold this quick, exceptional driving Triumph TR6 six years ago to one of our regular customers over the Wolds in Driffield. Over this time, the TR6 has covered over miles and has taken part in many TR6 club events and rallies.

The Triumph has proven an absolute delight to own and having had in the region of 20, spent prior to taking ownership, the most recent has spent a further on the car to include regular servicing, re-trimming the hard top included in the sale and some detailed paintwork. The TR6 has a really impressive specification to include Gas Flowed cylinder head, high lift fast road cam, Dellorto carburetor conversion, stainless steel manifold and exhaust, oil cooler conversion, Kenlowe fan, adjustable shocks, solid steering rack mounts plus front and rear anti-roll bar mounts.

In prior to selling to the last owner, the engine was fully stripped down and rebuilt with new pistons, new main and big end bearings, re-ground crankshaft and various new seals and gaskets. New core plugs were fitted, new clutch kit and the cooling system refurbished as required.

The engine has done over miles since rebuild. The triple carbs were fully rebuilt, and a new electronic ignition system fitted. The TR6 suspension was poly bushed and both the suspension and braking system fully re-commissioned. In earlythe TR was also stripped down and treated to a full outer re-paint, internal main floors and boot floor were also prepared and re-painted and the interior then re-fitted with brand new carpets, re-trimmed seats, new spare wheel cover, new Moto-Lita steering wheel and brand new hood.

Various trims, rubbers and gaskets were replaced, the wheels re-painted and a brand-new front bumper fitted. Once this program of work was completed, the car was put into summer use and has proven perfectly reliable, fantastic fun to own and drive, and returns to us further improved having had the hard top re-furbished.

The last owner has also given us a new wood veneer finish dashboard and new chrome gauge bezels as this was to be his next cosmetic job on the car. We will fit these parts within the sale price. We know the recent history, the huge expenditure and the fact the car has been a true delight for the last owner over six years.

Going further back into the car's history, we know the TR6 was in the State of Indiana 35 years ago. We have paperwork from the Indiana Commissioner and a photo of the car, still in its Dark Blue paint finish all the way back in Various restoration invoices are on file from the early 's including a re-conditioned gearbox and overdrive unit and it would seem the car arrived into the UK in very good order, only requiring some light mechanical work, bodywork and cosmetics.

The TR6 was then put into use and from to the car covered 17, miles when it was then laid up until the major expenditure in SHH 52M is a great buy, it's a real driver's car and its set up superbly.

The Trophy had been known as a Trials bike with a wide-ratio gearbox and low final gearing. The TR6 was fitted with the Tiger engine, alloy head and same higher compression ratio as the Tiger and with a single carburetor. Both models were moving away from Trials into street scramblers.

Both models got the new slick-shift gearbox inbut the TR5 was dropped at the end of the year. The TR6 was given a new duplex frame forand an alternator replaced the generator. Unit construction was adopted across the lineup of big twins inand the 6T Thunderbird, T Bonneville, and TR6 Trophy shared an entirely new frame while retaining the same engine, forks and wheels.

The new crankcase divided along the engine center line, but the joint was moved to the right so the gearbox lay in the right case half. Front forks were revised for and the TR6 gained twin pipes and silencers, like the T Changes for included an eyebrow tank badge and volt electrics. There were significant differences between the TR models sold on the East and West coasts, enough that a booklet even described them. Although TR6SC engines were stock, everything possible was removed, and the bikes ran with open pipes and a lower final gear ratio.
